Ennek tudatában:
The Hosehead Records is a little independent garage rock/punk/power pop record label in Canada.
What was the cause of starting of the label?
– Hosehead Records is just two guys from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Myself (Patrick) and Mike. Mike plays in a band here called First Base, and in May 2011 they needed a label to release a new cassette tape EP, so we just thought of the name Hosehead and that was pretty much it! We’re lucky that people liked what we were doing, because we could have just as easily stopped and vanished right there.
What’s the main profile?
– What do you mean by this?
– Sorry but I’m stupid, that the question shows it.
What was the greatest success?
Technically speaking, we’ve sold more Steve Adamyk Band 7″s than anything else, so that’s the biggest success. in 2014 we’re putting out our first LP, which is a huge success since we started out by putting out cassettes. We’ve saved up money from anywhere possible to put out records, so it feels like it’s been a long time coming.
What was the greatest surprise in the course of your story?
The biggest surprise is that anyone cares about what we do at all! We only put out music that both of us love, so when we find other people that are into what we like, it’s a great feeling. We’re both big record collectors, so we know what it’s like to find a record we never knew existed but suddenly can’t live without.
What will be the next release?
Our next release is a split release with P. Trash Records from Germany. It’s the debut LP by Ottawa, Ontario, Canada’s Average Times. They sound like a mix between Mean Jeans, Ramones and Marked Men. From the first time I heard the song „She Knows”, I knew we had to put out their LP. That is out March 4th, 2014.
My favourite Hoseheads Ketamines and Sam Coffey & The Iron Lungs
„The Ketamines is music from James Leroy and Paul Lawton. Ambition with no expectation. Love with no motive. Music that will help you through troubled times. Ketamines motto is: love yourself, honour yourself, respect yourself.” Their music is a very special mix of garage beat, bedroom blues, kitchen rock, living room country, bathroom surf, basement pop and homeless glam. The Ketamines releasing 4×7” singles on 4 labels, the covers combine to make one giant collage. The 3rd single
by Hosehead
The 1st. The 2nd is coming soon by Leaning Trees Records
You can buy the first and third together here

If I’m writing that this is purely Nirvana, is it good or bad?
Feelings – Ends Meat, debut LP by Urinal Cake. Listen to the full album. More songs
„The Steve Adamyk Band are a punk band.” They „play trash-pop inspired by seventies punk, the skinny tie bands of the eighties and nineties garage rock.” But their songs is too power pop for me often, but not this:
7″ by Hosehead
Another great Aussie garage rock band: The Living Eyes:
7″ by Goodbye Boozy
You can listen to their first album here.
