Dallamos, ugyanakkor rendkívül energikus latin garage punk zenéjét rockabilly és doo wop elemekkel ötvöző LOS VIGILANTES a Davila 666 feloszlása után a puerto rico-i garázs rock színtér nemzetközlieg legelismertebb zenekara. Eredetiségét  tagjai igencsak tarka zenei hátterének köszönheti. Jorge, aki a Davila 666-ból lehet ismerős, metal és blues rajongó: Slayer, Venom, Howlin’ Wolf, John Lee Hooker. A másik gitáros (Pepe) a pop szerelmese: Madonna, Michael Jackson, Beach Boys, Beatles.  A basszistának (Javi) mindene a spanyol punk rock. A dobos (Rafi) meg hardcore zenekarokban zenélt, viszont funk, bossa nova, hip-hop és a dél-amerikai psych-garage zenék nagy kedvelője. Mindannyian énekelnek, ráadásul néhány japán nyelvű számuk is van.

Elijah csajozni indult és zenekart alakított a lányok egyik barátjával. Dobos úgy került, hogy az Elijah üzemeltette klubból, mely egyúttal otthona is volt, egy koncert után a blues-punk one-man-band Pinche Gringo nem akart hazamenni, megkérte hát, legyen akkor a PAINT FUMES dobosa. Ő amúgy King Khan és Bloodshot Bill közös produkciójában a Tandoori Knightsban is játszik. Egyébként a zenekar megalakulását Elijah alkohol és drog fogyasztási szokásaival összefüggő pánik rohamai idézték elő. Megőrüléstől való félelme késztette, hogy valami olyan elfoglaltságot keressen, ami közben nem ihat, drogozhat (annyit). Disszonáns, pszichedelikus Velvet Underground és Stooges keverék zenéjükre az említettek mellett a Gun Club, Dex Romweber, az egyik első rock and roll one-man-band, Hasil Adkins, és a 60-as évek legendás pszichedelikus zenekara, a 13th Floor Elevators van hatással.

Los Vigilantes from Puerto Rico play tuneful, dynamic Latino garage punk with rockabilly and doo wop elements. After disbanded of Davila 666 internationally they are the most popular band of the Puerto Rican garage rock scene. Originality of their music is thanks to very colourful taste of the members. Jorge (who was in Davila 666) is blues and metal fan: Slayer, Venom, Howlin’ Wolf, John Lee Hooker. Another guitarist (Pepe) is pop enthusiast: Madonna, Michael Jackson, Beach Boys, Beatles. The bass player (Javi) knows everything about Spanish punk rock. The drummer (Rafi) was always in hardcore bands, but he very like funk, bossa nova, hip-hop and South American psych garage rock music. All of them sing, moreover there’re some songs in Japanese.

Elijah went tomcatting, but has founded a band with a friend of the girls. The drummer’s entry: after a gig of blues-punk one-man-band Pinche Gringo, he didn’t want to go home from the club that was also the home of Elijah at that time, finally Elijah asked him to play in PAINT FUMES. Pinche Gringo is also the drummer in King Khan and Bloodshot Bill’s band Tandoori Knights. Anyway the main cause of band foundation was Elijah’s panic attack, caused by his alcohol and drug abuse. Because of his fear from insanity he considered it necessary to find an activity and then he won’t able to drink, sniff and smoke (so much) during the practice of it. Their music is a dissonance, psychedelic mix of Velvet Underground and Stooges. It’s influenced by Gun Club, Dex Romweber, one of the earliest rock and roll one-man-bands: Hasil Adkins, and legendary psychedelic band of the 60s: 13th Floor Elevators.
